Property & Casualty Insurance Agent/CSR

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide service and marketing/placing expertise to assigned accounts

  • Support agency and assigned producers by placing and processing new business and renewals

  • Retain renewals through provision of quality service

  • Support sales objectives of the agency through cross selling, up selling, making inter-departmental referrals and obtaining testimonials and referrals

  • Perform all account transactions including applications, quotations, ID cards, endorsements, binders, claims, renewals, follow-up and correspondence

  • Respond to client inquiries, incoming mail and company requests

  • Conduct annual coverage surveys and recommend/sell additional coverage and/or increase in limits

  • Review new business, renewals, endorsements as needed to ensure items are received as ordered

  • Obtain expiration dates for additional policies and follow through to make sales of companion lines on all mono-line accounts

  • Keep informed of new sales programs

  • Sell new personal lines accounts within agency established underwriting guidelines

  • Maintain client files on agency management system and use agency management system for all transactions

  • Participate in educational seminars/classes for improvement of insurance/sales skills

  • Maintain knowledge of current underwriting requirements of contracted insurance carriers

  • Maintain knowledge of policy provisions and any changes in these provisions

  • Perform special projects at management’s request

Qualifications:

  • We use AMS 360, experience in this management system is strongly preferred, by not required

  • Strong knowledge of P&C insurance with an emphasis on either Personal or Commercial lines

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Bilingual in English & Spanish a plus

  • Great organization skills

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel

  • Experience rating on carrier websites (Safeco, Allied, Hartford, Travelers, etc.)

  • 2+ years of experience at an independent insurance agency preferred
